Why your company's AI should stay inside your walls

22 October 2026 · 6-minute read

We started CELLULE as a community network: ordinary machines pooling their power so that artificial intelligence would belong to no one. Building it taught us one thing. For a company, the real question is not who owns the AI. It is where its knowledge goes.

What is happening today

Your employees already use artificial intelligence. To save time, they paste a contract, a customer complaint, a quote, a payslip or a medical letter into a public chatbot. The answer comes back in seconds. The document, however, has left the company.

It now sits on servers you do not control, often outside Europe, under the laws of another country, and kept for as long as the provider's terms allow. Nobody decided this. Nobody can say exactly what went out, or undo it.

Governance: who decides what goes out?

An AI tool is a new door out of the company. Governance means three simple things: knowing what passes through that door, knowing who decided to open it, and being able to prove it — to a customer, an auditor or a data protection authority.

With a public service, that door is open by default, for everyone, all the time. With Cellule-PRO, it is closed by default. If it opens one day, it is because your IT department chose to, in writing, and the choice remains visible on every page of the administration console.

Sovereignty: on your soil, under your sole authority

Cellule-PRO is installed on your own servers. It answers your employees using the models and documents you put in it, and it works without an Internet connection. It calls no one: no cloud, no telemetry, no hidden update.

Sovereignty is not a slogan: it is being able to unplug the cable and keep working.

Your know-how was built over years, sometimes generations. It has no reason to drain away, question after question, into systems that nobody in your company controls.

What Cellule-PRO gives you

See it in action

Installation, by your IT team — from download to a running private AI.

Every day, for your employees — sourced answers, encrypted messaging, voice and the phone app.

CelluleBot: the AI your employees actually use

Sovereignty only matters if people use the tool. CelluleBot is the Cellule-PRO function for employees: an app on Windows, Linux and Android that talks only to your company's server.

A CelluleBot conversation, from start to finish — real screens on a demonstration server.

Without Cellule-PRO there is no CelluleBot: everything passes through your server, and nothing through a public cloud. Discover CelluleBot →

And if you want a cloud model one day?

Some companies want the power of a large external model for general questions. Cellule-PRO allows it, but only as a deliberate choice of your IT department, which acknowledges in writing that the air gap is lifted.

Even then, your knowledge bases, memory, messages, mail, shared spaces, documents and voice never leave. Every answer from outside is labelled as such for the employee. A monthly budget is set in advance and can never be exceeded. One click closes the door again.

Connecting Claude to your pool, step by step — approve the connector, lift the air gap knowingly, choose the model and the budget.

Air gap by default. Opening to the outside is your IT department's decision — never ours.

Why we changed course

The community network was a fine idea for individuals. Companies, on the other hand, told us the same thing again and again: "we want AI, but we cannot hand our files to someone else." They did not need another shared network. They needed a complete system that stays with them, that their IT department governs, and that keeps working when everything else goes down.

So we built Cellule-PRO, with the same conviction as on the first day: the tool belongs to those who use it.
